I grew up in Tigard, Oregon and went to Willamette University for my undergraduate work and Lewis & Clark College for my Master of Arts in Teaching degree.
I have been teaching at Springville since 2014. I love working at an EL school! Expeditions (in-depth units of study) are an amazing way to learn science, social studies, and literacy! Prior to Springville, I worked with Head Start as an Education Specialist and also in Wilsonville teaching preschool, kindergarten, and first grade.
I live in Beaverton with my husband, son, and daughter. We like to explore new places (parks, cities, beaches) and read LOTS of books! We love growing our own vegetables as well as visiting farmers' markets! Being gluten-free and dairy-free makes for very creative cooking adventures!
Some favorites of mine:
Movie: "Frozen" (I LOVE the soundtrack!)
Kids' Songs: Putumayo
Broadway show/play: Wicked
Food: pancakes (gluten-free!)
Drink: Soy Chai tea latte from Starbucks
Color: purple
Season: fall/autumn
NBA team: Portland Trail Blazers
Ducks or Beavers? Both! (But I root for the Beavers on Civil War day!)
Book: Too many to choose! I love Pete the Cat books, If You Give series by Laura Numeroff, and
Library Mouse.
